We await the lineup for the famed Nobel Peace Prize Concert, but the Associated Press has announced the host of December 11th's show: "Homeland" lead Claire Danes. In a statement, Danes said: "Each year, the most talented and iconic artists come together for this remarkable celebration to promote peace around the world and it means so much to me to support this incredibly special event."

The show will honor the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), which received the prize in the days after OPCW inspectors headed up the dismantling of chemical weapons in Syria. The laureate differs every year.

Most shows have been co-hosted in the past: Scarlett Johansson and Michael Caine in 2008, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith in 2009, up to last year's Sarah Jessica Parker and Gerard Butler. It's unclear if Claire Danes will be going solo or if another co-host will join as usual.

Past shows have featured musical acts that run the spectrum of genres. From classic acts Paul McCartney, Diana Ross and Annie Lenox, to Ellie Golding, Moby and Rihanna.

The concert started in 1994 and always runs on the 11th to pay homage to the death Alfred Nobel the day prior on the 10th of December. This is when the award ceremony takes place in the Oslo City Hall in Norway. The concert the following day is in the Oslo Spektrum Arena, with thousands of guests and a television broadcast to countries around the world.

Which musical acts would have you tuning in? Any guesses to who will be performing at this year's event?
