Barbies, you better brace yourselves. Nicki Minaj has teased that she will release a new album in the next year!

In an interview with New York radio station Power 105.1 (via Digital Spy), the "High School" rapper revealed that she has quietly been working on the follow up to her 2012 album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded over the last few months, and that the album will mark a new era in her musical journey.

"I've already started... 2014, definitely!" Minaj said about a new album. "It's different from anything I've done, which I'm surprised about. I'm not feeling like I did this. I feel like this is the next level."

Minaj revealed little else about her third studio album but did reveal one artist who won't be on the record as a featured player: Miley Cyrus. Though the two were spotted in the record studio together earlier this year in an Instagram photo, Minaj said the two nearly recorded a duet together but the collaboration "didn't work out."

Despite there being no Cyrus/Minaj music on the upcoming album, the record is sure to be a smash hit, if Minaj's last effort is any indication. Pink Friday: Roman Reloadedd ebuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 upon its release, selling 253,000 copies in its first week.

Additionally, that album helped launch Minaj into next level fame. Singles "Starships" and "Pound the Alarm" will largely successful, helping Minaj to become one of the biggest names in rap.

Her third studio album, which has yet to be named, will be released in 2014.
