Hoping to eke the last bit of ARTPOP publicity that she could that wasn't served up to her by Ryan Murphy, Lady Gaga appeared on the cover of UK gay mag Attitude and used the space to distance herself from a former beef.

As you may or may not remember, Gaga took a lot of flack for "Born This Way" sounding like Madonna's song "Express Yourself." Madge even mashed-up the two tracks during her MDNA tour to prove the similarities between the two tracks. While Madonna was clearly lashing out at Gaga for copping her sound, the "Applause" singer chose to treat it as an honor during the interview.

"I have to be really honest, I was completely kind of floored that Madonna was singing my song on her stage every night," Gaga said in the December issue cover story. "I'm certainly not thinking about anybody but me and my fans when I'm on stage. The fact that I was on her mind at all. I mean, Madonna's...she's Madonna."

Ohhh. You guys notice the back-handed insult in there? The idea that Gaga is only thinking about the Little Monsters while Madonna is busy being petty? I take what I said about Mother taking the high road back This might reignite some beef, y'all.

(Unrelated side note: Do you think it's a little weird that Gaga would say she "never said she was a gay icon" after releasing a track like "Born This Way?" Panderers gonna pander and then deny they ever pandered, I guess.)
