College football's biggest matchup this week features two SEC powerhouses. The LSU Tigers travel to Tuscaloosa, Alabama to face Nick Saban's undefeated Crimson Tide. For Alabama, they are the number one ranked team in the nation and once again could find themselves in the national title game. However, the 7-2 LSU Tigers could put a serious wrench in the Crimson Tide's plans while also propelling themselves back into the top ten with a victory tonight.

LSU is ranked tenth in the AP's latest top 25 poll, but a victory over Alabama tonight would send a ripple effect into the top ten. Florida State, Baylor, and Ohio State all still remain undefeated and would represent the likely options to take over the number one spot if LSU were to upset Alabama. Even with a victory, LSU's two losses would likely be too damaging when it comes to a national title game spot.

The matchup to watch tonight is LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger against the Crimson Tide defense. Alabama is first in the nation in points against, giving up a ridiculous 9.8 points a game. However, Mettenberger has thrown for nearly 2,500 yards and 19 touchdowns this season and will pose a significant threat to a thin Alabama secondary. Mettenberger also has two very dangerous options downfield in Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr. who both have eight touchdown catches this season.

Meanwhile, Alabama's AJ McCarron has surprised many with his consistency this season and has been a big reason why the Crimson Tide have been so dominating. LSU needs to find a way to slow McCarron down who is no longer just a game managing quarterback.

Despite LSU representing Alabama's biggest threat this season, OddsShark still had the Crimson Tide as 9.5 point favorites at the opening. I wish I could say LSU has a good chance at the upset tonight, but I just don't see anyone being able to stop the Crimson Tide this season.

The game has an 8pm ET start time and will be broadcast on CBS. If you can't watch the game on TV you can try watching the online live stream via CBS Sports here.
