The hype building around the new Terminator reboot franchise (originally considered the fifth installment in the original series) has been escalating pretty quickly this year. After the film was announced as a rebooted trilogy with original star Arnold Schwarzenegger attached, we soon named Alan Taylor director. The filmmaker is seeing plenty of success these days thanks to Thor: The Dark World, so our focus is now on his next project. Now reports are naming Tom Hardy and Emilia Clarke as possible star of the upcoming film!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will star Schwarzenegger will play a Terminator robot protecting a young Sarah Conner in a movie set in multiple time periods. The director is reportedly testing a number of actresses for the role of Sarah Connor.

These actresses named include Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen on Game of Thrones), Brie Larson (21 Jump Street), Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street), and another unnamed actor yet to be revealed. Clearly Clarke is the biggest name on the list so far, but altogether these young actresses aren't that well established yet, especially in the film world. It would be nice to see this turn into a break out role for one of them!

The same report claims that director Taylor wants Hardy to play the newest version of John Connor. Hardy of course portrayed the antagonist Bane in The Dark Knight Rises, opposite Christian Bale. Bale was the last actor to portray John Connor, too.

Other reports are naming Garrett Hedlund as a possible fit for Kyle Reese, the father of John Connor.

Do you think these casting rumors are true? Who would you like to see in theses roles?
