Earlier this month, Disney announced that it would be bringing 4 characters from the Marvel universe to Netflix for new original shows. These 13-episode shows would eventually lead to other projects, thus allowing Marvel to have a huge amount of their audience's attention. So what does competitors DC Comics and Warner Bros. Studios plan on doing to fight back? According to a new interview with filmmaker Guillermo del Toro, the comic book company is planning something very similar!

The Pacific Rim director is set to direct and is currently working on DC's Justice League Dark, featuring characters like Swamp Thing, The Demon, John Constantine, Deadman, The Spectre and others that fall under the anti-hero category of DC heroes. That said, the director has been getting plenty of comic-related question as of late. Luckily for us, he just dropped a huge piece of news about DC's future.

"We're still on (Justice League Dark), writing, and hopefully it will happen but there are no developments that are new," the director explained. "It's still at Warner Bros., they are making plans for the entire DC universe. All the superheroes, all the mythologies, and part of that is Justice League Dark. They're planning on TV, movies, and all the media, so we have to fit into that plan."

So it looks like DC isn't planning on falling behind Marvel in the future. Do you think they'll have to work with another streaming company since Netflix has partnered with Disney and Marvel? What projects do you think will come out of this?
