The 1990 film Ghost is one of the most memorable, original love stories to be produced in the history of Paramount Pictures. Patrick Swayze's portrayal of a supernatural boyfriend trying to save his girlfriend, Demi Moore, from the man who had him killed is the actor's most recognizable roles from a career full of other iconic characters. So in an era of pretty much any successful movie being remade or rebooted, how has Ghost not been revisited? Well according to a new report, the movie is coming back, but this time to television!

Though the concept of Ghost (detailed above, you're welcome) seems a bit farfetched, when it really comes down to it it's a unique love story. These days, any television shows with a hint of originality (though sometimes incredibly small hints) are taking over the ratings. Inviting viewers into a familiar yet still original storyline could be a huge hit for whatever network decides to order this pilot.

Akiva Goldsman and Jeff Pinkner, who both worked on Fringe, are penning this pilot. This writing duo will definitely take advantage of the supernatural ghost elements of the show. Oh and remember Whoopi Goldberg's psychic character? That is sure to bring plenty of comedy to the series as it did in the film.

The next question is: whom would you like to see in these roles? Would you be up for an established actor for the lead or would you rather see some new faces?
