The long-awaited (and long rumored) day that Lady Gaga will host Saturday Night Live is fast approaching. Following the release of her third studio album Artpop, the "Do What U Want" singer has taken root in 30 Rock preparing for this week's sketch comedy show. Now, new promos featuring the Mother Monster and SNL cast member Kenan Thompson have hit the web, and this week is going to be absurd.

Wearing a demure black gown, starchy blonde wig and an impressive feathery tiara, Gaga and Thompson (who's rocking a plaid shirt and ham watch) took on Gaga's weight/absurd style, living for the applause and dramatic acting in the six hilarious mini-commercials.

Yes, there was a meat dress joke, harkening back to Gaga's headling-grabbing gown at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards. Thompson rocked a ham watch in Gaga's honor, and when she told him just to be himself, the watch quickly turned into a portable snack.

Two other promos also tackled Gaga's larger-than-life persona, as Thompson mistook a lamp for this week's host (perhaps playing on both Gaga's weight and her interesting choice of dress) and they also tackled the fact that Lady Gaga may not be the pop singer's true given name (she was born Stefani Germanotta).

The other promos took on an absurdist point of view. There's an adorable moment where a flashlight is actually Tinkerbell, Thomposon and Gaga take on dramatic, Shakespearean acting and the final promo features the duo turning the world upside down and sideways (that is, before they puke).

Lady Gaga's episode of Saturday Night Live will air on Nov. 16 on NBC.
