According to a report from The Wrap, multiple sources close to Colin Trevorrow's Jurassic World movie project claim that Parks and Recreation funnyman Chris Pratt is being sought for the lead role of the dinosaur film. If this report turns out to be true and Pratt signs on for this part, it would almost ensure his future as a leading man in Hollywood. He is already on his way with an upcoming lead role in Guardians of the Galaxy, but this franchise is much bigger.

This leading role in Jurassic World was recently rumored to be offered to Josh Brolin, but nothing came out of that. Brolin either turned it down or it was just a rumor, but now we have Pratt in the lead for nabbing this role.

This news comes after this week's earlier confirmation for Bryce Dallas Howard about her role in the movie. Nick Robinson and Ty Simpkins are also set to star in Jurassic World. Along with the rumors surrounding Pratt, Life of Pi star Irrfan Khan is up for a supporting role in the Jurassic World sequel.

Meanwhile, Pratt was recently a guest on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno where he described how he got into shape for his upcoming film Guardians of the Galaxy.

"I cut beer out, I didn't drink for 7 or 8 months, which was really not that difficult for me," he said. "I'm not like a huge alcoholic or anything, but I always prided myself on being in a pretty good mood. And then I stopped drinking alcohol for 8 months and I realize from time to time I got grumpy... it's a nice social lubricant."
