Legendary funnyman Andrew Geoffrey “Andy” Kaufman died of sudden kidney failure in 1984 at the age of 35. Allegedly, that is...

According to Andy's own brother Michael Kaufman, the popular Saturday Night Live guest comedian actually faked his own death to escape the Hollywood limelight. He's still alive and well, happily married, and raising his family in solitude. In fact, his 24-year-old alleged daughter took the stage at the 9th Annual Andy Kaufman Award ceremony at the Gotham Comedy Club in NYC on Monday evening (Nov. 11) to explain her dad's infamous death hoax. Check out the shocking revelation here:

According to this young woman claiming to be Kaufman's only child, the "late" entertainer had considered revealing his identity that night, but later backed-out last minute.

Pretty crazy stuff, but not totally unbelievable. Death hoax rumors have continued to swirl ever since Kaufman passed away from cancer 29 years ago.

According to his alleged daughter, Kaufman's been secretly living as a stay-at-home dad all these years.

Want proof from TMZ?

- When fans look up Andy Kaufman's name on the Internet database of record, there is no date of death listed.

- In 2001, the database shows Kaufman lived in Cook County, Illinois.

- There's another address indicating Kaufman lived in Westchester County, NY later in 2001.

As for the shocking revelation during the Awards event - "I witnessed the entire thing and I can tell you without a doubt this was not a prank," the show's procuder (and close friend of Kaufman's) Al Parinello tells Hollywood Reporter.

Insane! Do Mstars readers think Kaufman's still alive and managed to pulled-off one of the greatest death hoaxes of all time? Or is it all just a morbidly wild joke?
