Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has just signed on to star in Not Without Hope, a movie based on the memoir of former NFL player Nick Schuyler. This story recounts the harrowing time Schuyler, his best friend Will Bleakley, and fellow NFL stars Marquis Cooper and Corey Smith were stranded at sea for four days. Johnson will portray Schuyler. The film will be put out by Relativity.

"Nick Schuyler's book is extremely moving, and Relativity is proud to work with the Rock, Nick and the entire team on creating a movie that honors this powerful story," said Robbie Brenner, president of production for Relativity.

Schuyler, now a personal trainer in Tampa, Florida, expressed his excitement and gratitude about the film being made about his terrifying fishing trip gone wrong.

"I'm humbled that Relativity was interested in paying tribute to Marquis, Corey and Will, and I was impressed with their vision for the film and how they wanted to honor how these guys lived and loved their families, friends and teammates," he said.

Before Dwayne Johnson became known as "The Rock" in the professional wrestling world of WWE, he was a football player his whole life. He played at the University of Miami as a Hurricane and knows the bond between players well.

Johnson this week also singed on for the movie project SEAL Team 666, which is a Navy SEAL-themed demonic horror movie. Clearly Johnson will show his range on these upcoming projects but it's good to see that one is a bit more serious than the other.
