Katy Perry's hit 2013 single "Roar" has been the backdrop for a number of feel good stories. The latest involves an 8-year-old Texas boy with Autism. Today.com reports that Jack Robbins has a severe case of Autism and is only able to speak a few words such as "snack," "water," and a couple other immediate needs. Jack also can't communicate feelings or emotions. However, Jack recently started putting words together when repeating lyrics from Perry's "Roar" single.

"I was completely amazed and so excited," Jack's mom Carla told Today. "For all these years, I've cooked for him, I put things on him, I dress him. I don't know if he likes them or hates them. This is huge for me to finally know something that he likes."

Carla posted a YouTube video of Jack singing along to "Roar." In the video you can see Jack is able to string together a few of the lyrics. Even the process of being videotaped isn't something Jack would usually be comfortable with, according to his mother. However, Jack not only let his mom videotape him, but he loved it! "When I showed it to him, he loved it," Carla explained. "He seemed really excited that we knew what he was saying." It seems Perry's song has resulted in a huge breakthrough for the family.

Jack's story is one that shows what good can come from music. Too often, today's music and its stars seem to be surrounded with controversy and negative news. However, Perry's "Roar" has proven to be a positive influence for at least one family. "If I was her (Perry), I would want to know how my music touched someone, especially as special as Jack," Carla told Today. The video has over 400,000 views as of Nov. 16. The question remains, has Perry seen the video?
