Miley Cyrus' new "I don't care what people think" persona may land the "Wrecking Ball" singer in some hot water. Her twerking performance with Robin Thicke at the MTV VMA's was harmless enough despite the many complaints about its lewdness. However, her most recent stunt at the 2013 MTV European Music Awards may get some people in trouble. The singer went on stage and allegedly smoked a blunt during her acceptance speech and now someone may be paying the price.

Most people know that in Amsterdam smoking weed and marijuana possession has been decriminalized. What you may not know is that, this only pertains to private areas, not public ones, like say on stage of the 2013 MTV EMA's. Did Cyrus know what she was doing was possibly illegal? My guess is Cyrus assumed it was legal and that's why she pulled yet another "shocking" on-stage stunt. This one, unlike her twerking performance with Thicke may have actually broken some laws.

Radar Online reports that the National Food and Consumer Authority is looking into Cyrus' stunt after numerous complaints. Cyrus may have violated anti smoking laws. Who knew Amsterdam had strict anti-smoking laws?

If found in violation, the Ziggo Dome could be fined. Radar Online does not say anything about Cyrus herself getting into any trouble. However, even if Cyrus were to be in trouble it doesn't sound as if she would care. Cyrus tweeted recently, "sometimes in life you just gotta decide to not give AF."

While this incident in particular probably won't result in any sort of severe punishment for Cyrus, the singer may want to tread carefully in the future. When a celebrity starts garnering attention for what some deem "bad behavior" there are usually more eyes watching. So far Cyrus' on-stage antics have been harmless enough, but at one point does the singer draw the line?
