The U.K. commercial broadcaster ITV has signed the dotted line to finalize an exclusive multiyear deal with MGM International Television Distribution to provide all 23 James Bond films to television viewers in the U.K.

ITV had showcased the franchise previously, but BSkyB took hold of the rights for the films back in 2012. Next year the channel will feature Skyfall, starring Daniel Craig, which was the highest grossing Bond film in history after bringing in over $1 billion at the worldwide box office.

The Hollywood Reporter notes that ITV director digital channels and acquisitions Angela Jain said Skyfall's success "proves not only the enduring popularity of the Bond franchise, but also its iconic status." She included: "I am delighted we have the entire Bond library of films on Britain's biggest commercial channel, a fantastic treat for all viewers."

Albert R. Broccoli's EON Productions, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios and Sony Pictures Entertainment are behind the megahit Skyfall.

"MGM is thrilled to partner again with ITV to bring James Bond home to U.K. audiences," said Chris Ottinger, president of international television distribution and acquisitions at MGM. "The Bond franchise is a jewel in the MGM library, and we are delighted to share the films with the viewers across the United Kingdom."

Skyfall was the only film that had not been held by BSkyB's deal. Rupert Murdoch's 21st Centrury Fox has a 39 percent stake in the company with the other Bond dedicated channel.

From Sean Connery, back in 1962 with Dr. No, to the Craig box office successes, the franchise remains one of the most watched and is clearly still in demand.
