As fans anxiously await the release of Hunger Games: Catching Fire, starring Jennifer Lawrence, they can enjoy a tamer and less violent rendition with Sesame Street's take on the film, a parody called "The Hungry Games: Catching Fur."

Cookie Monster plays the role of Cookieness Evereat (who is the shows version of Lawrence's charcter in the film Katniss Everdeen) alongside Pita, played by a piece of pita bread. The clip starts with a puppet resembling Elizabeth Banks stating, "May the cookies be ever in your flavor." The theme ends up being an appropriately educational message about learning shapes with food.

"Hungry Games" is part of the show's "Cookie Crumby Pictures" online collection of spoofs. They have already created parodies for True Blood, Homeland and The Voice. The puppets hit it big when they performed Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe," reaching 15 million views.

In addition to their adorably clever renditions of shows, movies and song covers, the famous puppets recently stopped by Late Night With Jimmy Fallon to do a rendition of the show's theme song accompanied by The Roots. These are very busy puppets who are staying on top of what's popular and making sure to befriend some big-time celebrities. Smart.

Hopefully the young kids and infants who stay tuned to Sesame Street aren't watching Hunger Games, or late night TV for that matter, but it's fun for the adults who have some nostalgia for the fuzzy characters, and the young ones won't know the difference.
