Is Billy Dee Williams lending his voice to Disney XD's animated 'Star Wars: Rebels' series as Lando Calrissian?

Star Wars Episode VII is definitely the most anticipated Star Wars project in the minds of fans, but there are some other interesting things going on in this universe. For instance, Disney XD is bringing a brand new animated series entitled Star Wars: Rebels to the small screen! This series will bridge the gap between Episodes III: Revenge of the Sith and Episode IV: A New Hope and according to a new interview with Billy Dee Williams Lando Calrissian could be involved.

The Empire Strikes Back actor revealed a new project he's working on entitled Rebels, but couldn't go into too much detail in a new interview at Rhode Island's Comic-Con. Though Williams said his new project was with Netflix, some are thinking that he could have just misspoke.

Rebels would only appear on Disney XD (for now), so the Netlfix part of this interview is a bit confusing. Do you think that Williams meant that he would be lending his voice to Star Wars: Rebels or are we just hoping too much for a Lando Calrissian return?

To be blunt, we are probably just getting our hopes up about Lando appearing in Star Wars: Rebels. Williams was probably talking about another series that will appear on Netlfix that is not related to Star Wars in any way. This is disappointing, but we should be thinking practically when it comes to Star Wars announcements. We should be used to being let down by yet another casting rumor involving an original trilogy actor.
