There is a ton going on with stars supporting arts education for children. This time it was the "Express Yourself" fundraiser thrown by the non-profit P.S. Arts, the L.A. Times recently reported. There is an overwhelmingly wonderful list of stars who came out this past Sunday along with children, and they all deserve to be known (but there are too many to list!). Jason Bateman recently supported veterans at the Homeward Bound Telethon, and he joined this very different event with 30 arts & crafts booths. Model and host Heidi Klum came, and Julie Bowen was there with her three boys. Other hilarious stars attended: Joel McHale, Kevin Nealon, Adam Scott, Mark Feuerstein, Glenn Howerton and Lisa Kudrow, who came with her son.

Of the event and mission of P.S. Arts in general, Kudrow said "The arts aren't just a fun pastime...The arts are real brain work. Too many people think they can shove arts education aside in favor of math and science, but you have to keep all of it going to encourage creativity, she said. "That's how you get innovation, advances and products you've never seen before."

Other supporters included producer and writer Aaron Sorkin, George Kotsiopoulos and Jessica Capshaw of Grey's Anatomy, who emphasized that the P.S. Arts program helps bring the arts to 15,000 children weekly.

There were over 1,200 in attendance, collecting over $500,000 from ticket sales (at $175 a pop), sponsorships and family packages. The money raised will specifically go toward boosting visual, music and theater arts education in Central and Southern California schools lacking resources.

Hardworking event chairs were Hadley Davis Rierson and Lee Rierson, Amanda and Andy Schuon, Christine and Jeff Weller, and Sutton Stracke.
