'Mindy Project' on hold, 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' to follow 'New Girl' instead

Say it ain't so! The Mindy Project is going on hiatus, and that means Brooklyn Nine-Nine will now follow New Girl on FOX instead, Deadline.com reports. That's not the only midseason change going down. Glee will return to its Tuesday at 8 p.m. time slot in hopes of giving it a boost. 

So back to Mindy, what does hiatus mean? First there will be a finale airing January 28, 2014. Then, the plan is for the writers to get together over the holidays to strategize a relaunch for April, when the Brooklyn Nine-Nine series starring Andy Samberg will finish up. The Mindy Project was able to land a second season, but hit an all-time low this week. How will fans react? 

New Girl and Brooklyn Nine-Nine will still be running after the NFL Superbowl on February 2nd. However, FOX is changing their plans for post-NFC Championship Game on January 19. Instead of launching the new show Rake (a "legal dramedy") they will run season two of the drama The Following. tIt's all part of a two-night premiere that starts after the game and continues on Monday, January 20.
