Miley Cyrus will take over MTV for a day to celebrate her 21st birthday

Miley Cyrus has not only invaded social media and entertainment news in general over the past few months, she's now legitimately taking over MTV for an eight hour stretch to celebrate her 21^st birthday this Saturday, Nov. 23.

The network special, 21 Candles: Miley's MTV Moments, will start at 12 p.m. ET. There are many things to cover when it comes to Cyrus and her MTV shenanigans, which at first just appeared to be controversial but have now convincingly become a publicity jackpot, hence her own birthday special.

At the VMAs in August, the pop star introduced us to her new tongue-out-of-the-mouth trademark, twerking became a household term and the idea of teddy bears changed for all of us. Then MTV aired Miley: The Movement, a documentary that takes a look back at all of the singer's moments and success up until now. Then, and this was the kicker, Cyrus smoked pot on stage at the MTV EMA awards in Amsterdam. That's our little child star.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the special on Saturday will start with a 30-minute segment in which Cyrus takes a look at these amazing moments in her career, then it will move on to an exclusive edition of the documentary Miley: The Movement, which will include personal commentary from the birthday girl. After that Cyrus will host episodes of Awkward and Snooki and JWOWW, her favorites. And then the day will end with a repeat of the 21 Candles segment from the start of the special.
