Toronto mayor Rob Ford has had a sufficient run of headline news exposure with his crack cocaine smoking, drunken stupors and sexually explicit comments. Somehow he just keeps going with it. But a different newsman is bringing attention to the controversial mayor, only this time it's in a positive light.

While out promoting his new film, Anchorman Ron Burgundy took an opportunity on Conan O'Brien's TBS show to voice his support for Ford and to sing a campaign song in his honor, which was his own version of Loverboy's "Working For The Weekend." He said he believes the only reason Ford has had to deal with so much controversy is because he's "so damn honest."

He went on: "My dear, dear, dear friend, Mayor Rob Ford of Toronto, is running for re-election. I hold him in the highest regard. He is the the best. Outstanding individual. And his little brother Donny, or Dougie, or whatever. But he's asked me to sing the campaign theme song for his re-election."

Burgundy also recently announced that he would make an appearance at Emerson College when they hold a ceremony at the School of Communication in his honor. They will be renaming the school The Ron Burgundy School of Communication for one day in December.

Will Ferrell stars in the upcoming Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, which also stars Paul Rudd, Christina Applegate and Steve Carell. The highly anticipated sequel will hit the theaters on Dec. 20.
