Eminem's infamous childhood home (which was featured on both album covers for MMLP and MMLP2) is no longer standing:

As Mstars reported back in September, Slim Shady's house at 19946 Dresden Street in Detroit was recently put up for sale by the Michigan Land Bank. Here's some background info:

The rapper's home is up for sale via the Michigan Land Bank website. Currently there's no minimum bid on the property - just a $35 processing fee if an individual's offer is accepted. Check out parcel number 21034756 for more details.

According to MLive Detroit, property records show that Land Bank has held possession of the home since October 5, 2012. Records show that Debbie Nelson (formerly Debbie Mathers, Eminem's mom) owned the house from March 1992 - April 2003. The property has been through at least 10 owners since Ms. Mathers' residence.

The market value of Shady's old home currently remains unknown. The popular real estate websiteZillow estimates that the property's worth about $33,000, despite its dismal condition and location. More information can also be found on Trulia (estimated cost, $37,000).

One nearby resident told MLive Detroit reporter Eric Lacy that the neighborhood has been "plagued by drug and gang activity for several years." The source also warned outsiders to be careful - drug dealers often prey on Eminem fans who stop by and visit the home.

Check out Anderson Cooper's interview with Eminem for "60 Minutes," where the two visit Shady's childhood stomping grounds:

But now fans can never own this part of hip-hop history. As XXL Magazine reports, a wrecking crew just demolished the house earlier this month. Apparently, the state of Michigan deemed the house structurally unsafe last week due to damage caused by a fire on November 7. Senior Chief Jack Wiley said that the Detroit Fire Department promptly responded to the blaze - when crews arrived, flames were coming out of the second floor window. Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames, but the fire still damaged portions of the top floor.

Eminem just released his highly-anticipated eighth studio record the Marshall Mathers LP 2 earlier this month.
