Fans are NOT happy about the sudden sitcom kill-off. In fact, several viewers are protesting Brian's death. One Facebook fan-page provides a link to an online petition which reads:

Seth MacFarlane and Fox Broadcasting Company: Bring Brian Griffin back to Family Guy

R.I.P Brian Griffin from Family Guy

Brian Griffin was an important part of our viewing experince. He added a witty and sophisticated element to the show. Family Guy and Fox Broadcasting will lose viewers if Brian Griffin is not brought back to the show. Follow us here for updates.

The writers of family guy didn't just kill off one of their creations, they killed off the dog who has lived in our homes for the last 15 years. They killed the dog we all have come to love. They killed America's dog!

The petition already has more than 35,000 supporters.

Maybe Brian will be reincarnated! But there's still very little hope in that. And here's why.

First off, Stewie JUSTdisassembled his time machine. What are the chances of that happening? Secondly, there's a new dog in town to replace Brian (if that's even possible). Introducing - Vinnie the Dog.

A rep for actor Tony Sirico tells TMZ, "Former Sopranos star Tony Sirico will be voicing Vinnie." He's set to star in at least six episodes, and if everything goes well, he'll probably be a more permanent "Family Guy" character.

Apparently Sirico "feels horrible" because Brian's death was so sad... but that too shall pass! Will Mstars fans ever get over Brian Griffin's death?
