Morrissey and British singer-songwriter Jake Bugg have been added to the already impressive line-up of the 20th annual Nobel Peace Prize concert. The famed Englishmen will join Mary J. Blige, James Blunt Omar Souleymen, Swedish acts Timbuktu and Zara Larsson and the Norwegian rap group envy for the December 11 concert in Oslo, Norway. The event will be hosted by Claire Danes because, why not?
Morrissey told his active fansite True to You that he will perform three songs at the event. No word on how many tracks Jake Bugg will play off his two excellent 2013 albums Jake Bugg and Shangri-La.
The concert will come as part of a ceremony honoring this year's Nobel Peace Prize recipient, the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, for the Netherlands-based group's efforts to eliminate chemical weapons - an especially resonant issue this year, in light of evidence that forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad have used chemical weapons in the ongoing conflict there.
It's been a hectic year for Moz who, on top of being forced to cancel his tour due to illness, made some controversial remarks about homosexuals and got in a stand-off with LA's Staples Center.
