Last night on The Voice, two singers were eliminated, leaving only 6 remaining artists. The show said goodbye to high school senior Caroline Pennell and single father Ray Boudreaux. Thankfully, fan favorite Matthew Schuler stayed in the race after the Twitter instant save went to him. As it was announced that two would be leaving, the show also shared the news of its most recent addition. OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder is now the first in-house producer and songwriter.

During The Voice "battle rounds" Tedder sat alongside Adam Levine as his guest adviser for Levine's team. He will be working with the three finalists, once it gets narrowed down, to help them with their final performances. He will also be writing a song for the three to perform on the finale on Dec. 17.

NBC Entertainment's president of Alternative and Late Night Programming Paul Telegdy said that Tedder "will be invaluable in both his work with our artists and in creating a song that will capture the essence of our show."

Tedder has quite the impressive résumé, not only as the lead singer and songwriter for his group OneRepublic. He has written and produced songs for Beyonce, Carrie Underwood, Adele, Leona Lewis, and Levine's band Maroon 5.

OneRepublic's album Native debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 in March, and this week the new single "Counting Stars" made it to No. 6 on the Hot 100.  Because of the already impressive amount of songs from The Voice hitting the top of the iTunes charts, chances are Tedder will have another high-ranking hit with his song for the finale.
