Now that Marvel has confirmed that Elizabeth Olsen will play Scarlet Witch in The Avengers: Age of Ultron, fans can expect a steady stream of news about the actress and the character before the film comes out in Summer 2015. In a recent interview, Olsen revealed that Scarlet Witch is a "messed up lady."

Olsen told Moviefone that the character is psychologically damaged and she is looking forward to playing that kind of character:

"I just love Scarlet Witch. I love her. It's so funny because I'm often talking about all these psychologically damaged people, but when you talk about Scarlet Witch...She is a messed up lady. She has got more sh*t to deal with than anybody else I know. I'm excited to figure out what's appropriate to use for her, because there's so much material from all of these decades, and we're going to tell this one story. So to be able to choose what you're going to bring into it from all of this abundance, it's really fun."

The actress also expressed her enthusiasm about the movie and also said she spent some time with Joss Whedon:

"I hung out with Mr. Whedon recently. I'm really excited about this movie. I'm so excited about Scarlet Witch. I have had so much fun reading all about her and I am like learning new words that I had to look up on Wikipedia. I'm really enjoying it."

Marvel also officially revealed this week that Aaron Taylor-Johnson would play Quicksilver, who is Scarlet Witch's brother in the comics. Fox owns the rights to the X-Men franchise (Quicksilver will also appear in X-Men: Days of Future Past), so Marvel cannot reference Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch's mutant heritage or the fact that Magneto is their father.
