Olivia Pope is many things: sassy, brilliant, confident and troubled. "Pregnant" is not an item that has appeared on the list of her attributes, but her portrayer, Kerry Washington, is currently with child. This has led many Scandal fans to wonder if series creator Shonda Rhimes and the writers would incorporate Washington's real-life pregnancy into the show.

We now have the answer to that question thanks to the "Ask Ausiello" column at TVLine:

"Question: Is Scandal incorporating Kerry Washington's pregnancy into the show? I hope not. I can't see Olivia running around after a kid. - Mark
Shonda Rhimes apparently agrees with you. Although ABC declined to comment, I'm hearing there are no plans to further complicate Olivia's love life with a toddler."

Washington married NFL player Nnamdi Asomugha on June 24. News broke on Oct. 30 that she was expecting their first child.

In other Scandal news, Bellamy Young told the "Matt's Inside Line" column at TVLine that the 10th episode of Season 3 would be a jaw-dropper:

"What can you hint about the upcoming episodes of Scandal? - Lindsey
Here's a tiny something to get you through the next two weeks: Already I have teased the 'wow' of Episode 9, airing Dec. 5. But the actual midseason finale teeing up the winter break? It's even wow-ier. 'Episode 10, which sort of frames this first chapter of this third season, is bananas. Banananananas,' Bellamy Young told me. 'I mean, the writers blow my mind every time I sit down, they raise their own game. I don't know how they do it.' And while unable to spill details, Young said that the gasp-worthy moments on hand for that pre-hiatus hour come in the following flavors: 'Sad, sexy, happy and horrifying.'"
