Duncan Jones is currently working on the Warcraft movie based on the popular video game series, but the film adaptation will come out a little bit later than originally expected.

The film was originally scheduled for release on Dec. 18, 2015 but has now been pushed back to March 11, 2016. December is a hotter month for movies than March, but Universal has pushed back the release date to avoid directly competing with Star Wars Episode VII, which comes out that month. That movie is likely to make an obscene sum of money, and Universal likely did not want to go head-to-head with the blockbuster franchise even though Warcraft should draw a sizable audience in its own right.

In other movie news, The Mummy reboot has been scheduled for April 22, 2016. And Seventh Son, which stars Jeff Bridges, has once again been delayed. The fantasy film was originally scheduled for release in Feb. 2013 but was pushed to Oct. 2013 and once again delayed to Jan. 17, 2014. Now it has been scheduled for Feb. 6, 2015, almost two whole years after its original release date. The film did transfer from Warner Bros. to Universal, though, which contributed to the delays.

The year 2015 promises to be a huge one for movies with The Avengers: Age of Ultron, Batman vs. Superman, Jurassic World, Independence Day 2, Terminator 5 and Star Wars Episode VII all set for release in that year. We'll be spending plenty of time at our local theaters with popcorn in hand.
