Brooklyn Nets coach Jason Kidd is speaking up about his infamous drink spilling incident but just as it seems the mess was being cleaned up, Mark Cuban just had to put his two cents in.

On Friday evening, the Dallas Mavericks owner and Kidd's former boss tweeted: "Who was the first coach to spill a Coke to get a timeout?"

In the tweet, Cuban also posted a link to a 2009 regular season game between the Dallas Mavericks and Chicago Bulls. Kidd was playing point guard for the Mavericks at that time as well.

With 2.9 seconds remaining in overtime and the Mavericks holding a 113-111 lead, a cup just happened to spill near the Bulls bench. Dirk Nowitzki was shooting free throws. The spill forced a game delay.

Kidd was recently fined for using similar tactics. With 8.3 seconds remaining in the 4th quarter and the Nets down by two points, Kidd instructed Net guard Tyshawn Taylor to hit him to spill his drink.

The spill allowed the Nets to draw up a play with no timeouts left in the game. The NBA fined Kidd $50,000 for his forced timeout.

The Nets ended up losing the game Wednesday and Kidd denied intentionally spilling the cup. Kidd blamed the spill on his sweaty palms saying, "In the heat of the battle you're trying to get guys in and out of the game, and the Coke fell out of my hand."

After the Nets loss to the Houston Rockets on Friday night, Kidd changed his story. "It's over with. That's behind me. There's nothing to really talk about. It's done, so I've got to move forward with it," he said.

Kidd said that he learned the tactic from team owners and coaches in the league while he was a player.
