James Franco wants Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination for 'Spring Breakers' role so watch his 'consider this sh*t' Alien campaign video

If you haven't already noticed, it is Oscars season in Hollywood and many production companies have already started campaigning for certain films and actors. One of the more interesting campaign videos comes from A24, the company that distributed Spring Breakers, for James Franco in his Best Supporting Actor role as Alien in the Harmony Korine film.

First of all, the Best Supporting Actor category is maybe one of the best subjects of the Academy Awards. This is the first big category of the ceremony and the stars nominated for this award usually go on to leading roles or just lucrative careers. Look at Javier Bardem, Christian Bale and Christoph Waltz, for example.

Franco, who has been nominated for best Leading Actor, can definitely benefit from a win in this category. Plus his role in Spring Breakers is a pretty good nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

Yes, Spring Breakers was a crazy look at the excessive lifestyles and mindsets of modern, young America, but the film was held together by the character Alien. What was the inspiration behind this crazy, drug-dealing white rapper? We know the actor modeled the character's look off of Riff Raff, but Alien was all Korine and Franco.

Mixing eccentricity with a hint of madness, Alien brought the young girls of the film into his crazy world and then fell under their spell as the film progressed. This range of character change makes this performance worth considering.
