The rock legend Ozzy Osbourne turns 65 today, and wants you to donate to The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity to celebrate. Yesterday he shared with his fans via twitter this request:

His wife Sharon Osbourne recovered from colorectal cancer. She is fully back to her outgoing self, talking to the media about her vaginal tightening surgery and speaking out against The View hosts. In 2004 she herself founded the Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Program at Cedars Sinai Hospital.

This particular charity Ozzy Osbourne is bringing attention to, has gotten much love from other stars as well. The Wonderwall reports that Mel C of Spice Girls fame urged her fans to donate, along with Sir Paul McCartney and The Wanted stars, Max George and Nathan Sykes. Notice a pattern? This is a British charity. So far, this particular campaign has raised £1,856.67 from over 130 donations. As an organization, Royal Marsden has gathered over an astounding £100,000,000 in funds.

Ozzy's son Jack Osbourne has Multiple Sclerosis at the young age of 28. He has already worked to raise awareness to the disease and aid the M.S. Foundation. Ozzy's daughter Kelly Osbourne is active in philanthropy as well, working with the Elton John AIDS Foundation, Cancer Research UK, and Save The Music Foundation in the past.

In addition to the famous family getting in the news for their bold statements and actions, they truly know how to shed some light on good causes.

Who said hardcore musicians don't have a soft spot when it comes to serious issues? The rocker is now officially a pensioner at the age of 65. For the record, he's not big on being considered "heavy-metal."
