There are few things Lorde will admit to liking, The Kiwi teen behind pop smash "Royals" has taken time out of her life to bash YMCMB, Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus, the VMAs and other institutions of Top 40 radio. However, after watching her recent, VEVO-crashing music video for "Team," I think I've finally found something that the youngster is a fan of: 1981 trash-cinema classic Knightriders.

Allow me to explain, Lorde's video portrays her as the leader of a dystopian future clan. At the same time, young men in this future scenario pass the time by holding dirtbike jousts That is a remarkably specific premise, one that echoes George Romero's (yes, that one) film about Ren Faire performers who create their own fuedalistic society based around medieval motorcycle combat.

Once dubbed "the manliest movie of all time" by Cracked, the film stars Ed Harris as the king of the dirtbike knights (excellent garage band name, by the way). Harris can be deposed at any time should he lose a joust.

While Lorde isn't present at the dirtbike joust, it is made clear that she is the leader in this future world that contains staged dirtbike fights. One can only assume Lorde plans to become the next Ed Harris, assimilating these youngsters into her kingdom via the only metric that makes sense to them, a stiff prod in the chest delivered via speeding motorbike.

The Internet is apparently full of Lorde/Ed Harris fans, because the release of "Team" caused VEVO to crash under the strain of rushing fans.

"Omg you crashed vevo! I think you're all overloading the video. Let it breathe!" Lorde tweeted after debuting the clip last night.
