While Macklemore & Ryan Lewis were, decidedly, the most streamed act in the world in 2013, Robin Thicke was the musician most likely to make people say "What the heck am I listening to?"

Thicke's mega-hit "Blurred Lines" was the most Shazam-ed song of the year. For those who don't know, Shazam is a service that identifies songs that are playing around you. Thicke's track was tagged 17.8 million times.

Avicii's end of all music house-folk track "Wake Me Up" came in second with 14.3 million tags. Not ones to let a metric's year-end list go by, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis took the third and fourth spot with "Thrift Shop" and "Can't Hold Us", respectively.

Check out the entire top 10 most tagged songs on Shazam below:

There are maybe two songs worth a lick in that entire list. My only hope is that people were identifying the songs to avoid them in the future.

As for Robin Thicke's current activity, the singer is all tangled up in a lawsuit with the family of Marvin Gaye over the similarities between "Blurred Lines" (a track that was so huge, it almost broke Mariah Carey/Boyz II Men's all-time record of holding down Billboard's number one spot for 16 straight weeks) and Marvin Gaye's classic "Got To Give It Up."
