Amanda Bynes is home for the Holidays, starlet out of rehab

Amanda Bynes is free! The 27-year-old actress has been released from the Malibu rehab facility where she has been getting inpatient treatment for her mental illness.

Bynes gave an update of her progress to In Touch yesterday, saying "I am doing very well, I'm doing great; it's been five days since I got out of rehab."

Bynes is getting use to being back at home with her family, after being in treatment for almost five months. According to the attorney for Amanda's mom, the actress is now at her mother's house, and will still be receiving outpatient treatment.

According to In Touch, Bynes was seen shopping on Dec. 1, browsing a local mall and picking up some new clothes from Forever 21. "She looks great!" an eyewitness said. "She looks healthy and was very polite and friendly. She spent about $100." 

Two days later, Bynes was joined by her father, Rick, for a stroll around their California neighborhood. "She was dressed in skinny jeans and a big shawl," says an onlooker. "She appeared to have lost a little weight but was smiling and looked happy. She was chatting away to her dad. They were deep in conversation." 

TMZ noted that Bynes had been at The Canyon treatment center since September ... following her stay at UCLA psych ward.

Bynes is due in court on Jan. 7 for a progress hearing in her ongoing DUI case.
