Jack White is at his best when he's paying homage to his folk/blues roots, like on the White Stripes early single "We're Going To Be Friends." In stark contrast to the overblown, unhinged guitar sound of his recent solo albums, White performed the back-catalog track accompanied by a fiddle, double bass and banjo during Another Day, Another Time: Celebrating The Music of Inside Llewyn Davis, a star-studded concert surrounding the titular film that raised money for the National Recording Preservation Foundation.

The concert - which also featured perfomances by legendary artists like Joan Baez, Patti Smith and Elvis Costello - was filmed in September and will air on Showtime next week.

Inside Llewyn Davis is a Coen Brothers film following a fictional character through the folk explosion of Greenwich Village in 1961. The music for the film was handled by T-Bone Burnett and Marcus Mumford. The concert featured many tracks from the film including a previously unheard Bob Dylan track.
