Sony finally released the official trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 on Thursday after months of anticipation, and the two-minute trailer reveals a slew of information about the upcoming Spidey sequel.

Firstly, the trailer finally confirms that Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan) will be suiting up as the Green Goblin in this film instead of Norman Osborn (Chris Cooper). In fact, Norman looks pretty sickly and appears to be on his deathbed in the trailer, which you can view below:

Electro (Jamie Foxx) is the main villain of the film but, interestingly, the trailer treats the character as a secondary player. Much of the trailer focuses on Peter Parker's (Andrew Garfield) continued journey to discover the truth about his parents. Harry reveals to him that Oscorp had him under surveillance, and Aunt May (Sally Field) apparently leads him to an underground lab with video messages from his father, Richard Parker.

The trailer also gives the best looks yet at the mechanized Rhino (Paul Giamatti) and Green Goblin suits. If that weren't enough, there's also a brief glimpse at the 1:14 mark of Doctor Octopus' tentacles and the Vulture's wings.

The presence of so many villains in this movie and the film's expansion of the Spider-Man universe will almost assuredly lead to a showdown between Spider-Man and the Sinister Six in a future installment. Lizard, Electro, Rhino, Green Goblin, Doc Ock and Vulture have now all been officially seen in some capacity in the Amazing Spider-Man films, so those villains could make up the Sinister Six roster., but that's getting ahead of ourselves a bit.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters on May 2, 2014 and also stars Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy.
