In Theaters This Week: Check out trailers for 'Inside Llewyn Davis,' 'Out of the Furnace' and more coming to a big screen this weekend!

After an exciting November of movie releases, the first weekend of December takes a step back from adventure and into the dramatic spectrum. Such films as Into the Furnace, Inside Llewyn Davis and The Last Days on Mars are hitting theaters this weekend and ask audiences to appreciate films for their message and not their appeal. The excitement and hype around The Hunger Games: Catching Fire might still be around, but character studies like the titles mentioned above are hoping to attract audiences on the weekend of December 5, 2013.

Maybe one of the biggest films coming out this year in terms of dramas is Inside Llewyn Davis. The latest Coen Brothers film follows a week in the life of Davis (Oscar Isaac), a young folk singer trying to make it in the Greenwich Village music scene of 1961. Carey Mulligan, Justin Timberlake, John Goodman and many others also star in this new film.

Another dramatic film coming out this weekend is Out of the Furnace. Christian Bale stars as a down on his luck family man that is unwillingly thrown into a crime ring after his brother (Casey Affleck) gets involved after returning from serving in Iraq. There are a lot of subjects in that last sentence, so you can imagine how gripping of a tale this movie will be.

Taking a slight step away from the hard-hitting dramas above, The Last Days on Mars takes us into the sci-fi genre but keeps the anxiety up. Live Shreiber leads this cast as a crewmember of the final manned mission to Mars that believes he has discovered something incredible on the red planet. Unfortunately, disaster strikes and tensions rise.
