Simon Kinberg is a notable producer and writer over at Fox, but the production company wanted to make sure he was involved with the bigger projects as time went on. So Fox has officially hired the writer for a three-year, first look deal that promises to involve X-Men and Fantastic Four expansions that we've seen over at Marvel. What should we expect from the Days of Future Past screenwriter?

Quickly, Kinberg is also working in the Star Wars universe and is one of the writers working on a spin-off, standalone film after the release of Episode VII

"I have a lot of ideas on how to built those brands and do what everybody is thinking of these days: Be like Marvel. I want to be able to build stories over multiple movies." Kinberg said in regards to his latest contract.

Earlier this week, X-Men: Days of Future Past director Bryan Singer tweeted a tease of the next film in the series, Apocalypse. Do you think this will be our first taste of the new Kinberg deal?

Simon Kinberg was also the screenwriter on Days of Future Past and he recently explained the time-traveling aspect of Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) that differs from the comic series.

"We made the decision for a lot of reasons, some of them obvious and some of them more nuanced, to make it Wolverine who goes back in time," he explained. "One reason is that he's the protagonist of the franchise, and probably the most beloved character to a mass audience. Probably the bigger reason is that when we started thinking about the logistical realities of Kitty's consciousness being sent back in time, to her younger self, as opposed to her physical body being sent back... it was impossible."
