Fresh off the news that Gal Gadot would play Wonder Woman in the 2015 sequel to Man of Steel, entitled Batman vs. Superman, a new report reveals that an Academy Award-winning actor could step into the role of Lex Luthor.

According to ThinkMcFlyThink.com, the shortlist for Superman's greatest villain includes Denzel Washington at the top of the list, followed shortly thereafter by Idris Elba (The Wire, Thor, Thor: The Dark World). The post also mentions "a certain re-occurring cast member from Arrow," the CW show about the DC hero Green Arrow. This could refer to David Ramsey or Colin Salmon.

The site makes clear that its report does not mean that a black man would definitely play Lex Luthor in Batman vs. Superman.

Washington would certainly add even more star power to the movie, and he has proven beyond a doubt that he can absolutely own a villain role as he did in Training Day. Elba expertly played the role of Stringer Bell on The Wire. He was not a villain in the traditional sense, but he should have no problem sliding into Lex's suit.

The article also addresses the Justice League movie and reveals through an inside source that the plan is to make the team into a "United Nations of Superheroes." Superman would represent the entire planet because he is an alien immigrant to the planet and the leader of the group. Batman would represent the United States with Ben Affleck, an American, in the role. A Hispanic or Latino actor could play The Flash and, as we already know, an Israeli woman will play Wonder Woman.
