Tim Tebow's older brother Peter must have an angel on his back, because he was arrested for DUI back in 2011 and escaped with just a speeding ticket, according to TMZ.

TMZ reports that, Peter Tebow was pulled over in Denver, CO early in the morning, in June 2011 after cops say he was speeding through town, going 90 mph in a 45 while going in between two lanes of traffic.

When the cop came up on the vehicle, he saw "that [Tebow's] eyes were bloodshot and watery, his speech was slurred and mumbled and his pupils were enlarged."

The officer asked Peter if he was on any medication, the brother of the NFL player said ... "Yeah, I had some Percocet earlier. I had 2 pills in the morning and the afternoon."

He later said, "I had 2 pills a couple hours ago."

In the report, the cop says he also smelled alcohol on Peter's breath, but Peter did not take both a road sobriety test and a blood alcohol test.

Peter, was 26 at the time, eventually got arrested and was booked at a nearby station. He was later charged with reckless driving and a DUI.

Despite all the details we have just provided for you, Peter got off the hook in court. The DUI was dismissed and the reckless driving charge was reduced to a simple speeding ticket for going 20-24 mph over the limit.

His punishment, is only $276 in fines (not including attorney's fees), my tickets cost more than that!

Peter, you are one lucky man!
