How I Met Your Mother bringing back Ashley Williams as Victoria in Season 9

How I Met Your Mother has added another familiar face to its ninth and final season, and she's an important person in Ted Mosby's life.

TVLine reports exclusively that the CBS sitcom is bringing back Ted's (twice) former flame, Victoria (Ashley Williams), for an episode later in Season 9. There are not many details on her appearance, but TVLine's sources confirm that Victoria will appear in the 19^th episode of Season 9, which will likely air in or around April. The episode is expected to film this month.

Victoria was Ted's first serious girlfriend on HIMYM all the way back in Season 1. The two met at a wedding and dated for several episodes until she got a job in Germany as a pastry chef. They tried to make a long-distance relationship work, but Ted cheated on her with Robin and they broke up.

Victoria then returned early in Season 7 and revealed that she was about to get engaged to a man named Klaus, whom she met in Germany just days after she and Ted ended their relationship. She told him that the reason their relationship and none of Ted's other relationships had worked out was because of Robin and that his hanging out with her and Barney all the time won't work.

Ted later tried to rekindle his romance with Victoria at the end of Season 7 and did so just in time to steal her away on her wedding day. They dated for the first few episodes of Season 8 and got engaged briefly, but Victoria broke it off when Ted refused to end his friendship with Robin.

Our guess is that Victoria is making the wedding cake for Barney and Robin's wedding. Either that or she will appear via flashback.
