Miguel's duet with Keith Urban at the Grammy nomination show may have come as a surprise to some but it may have sparked one of Miguel's interests musically.

After his performance with Urban, Miguel entertained the press and even opened up about one of his goals, which he said is to tackle the country genre.

Here's what he had to say:

"One of my goals was to write, still is, to write a song that kinda crossed over from whatever genre you want to put my music in to country music because I feel country music is the genre for the greatest-written songs. If I ever made a song that even made it to country radio, it would be a great testament to my abilities."

From his interview, it seems like Miguel is a big fan of country music. He went on to say :

"The artists thrive and the music thrives because of the community and because of the honesty. They write songs about cars and they sound incredible. There's not too many people who can do that, you know what I'm saying?"

Miguel is also working with his girlfriend Nazanin Mandi as she preps her own forthcoming album.

Wonder if Miguel will work with Keith Urban for his country crossover. Their rendition of Bill Withers' "Ain't No Sunshine" did sound pretty good.

What do you think of Miguel writing a country song? Which country artist would you like to see Miguel work with if he goes through with his goal?
