FOX's Brooklyn Nine-Nine made out well at the Golden Globes nominations. The new show is nominated for best TV series, Comedy. Lead Andy Samberg is up for best actor in a TV comedy against Jason Bateman (Arrested Development), Michael J. Fox (The Michael J. Fox Show), big-winner Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory) and Don Cheadle (House of Lies). Best comedy will compete against the unstoppable Modern Family, HBO's Girls, The Big Bang Theory, and Parks and Recreation -- which at one point was almost killed by a ratings dip.

In the drama category, Emmy-winner Breaking Bad is up against the ever-popular Downton Abbey, new Masters of Sex on Showtime, long-running The Good Wife and House of Cards, which just released a trailer to its second season. Lead Kevin Spacey is also up for best actor in a TV drama, along with Bryan Cranston of Breaking Bad and Michael Sheen from Masters of Sex. The new Blacklist conjured up a nomination for James Spader. Showtime's new crime thriller Ray Donovan did the same for Liev Schreiber. The newcomers Sheen and Schreiber expressed their thanks on twitter.
