Last month, Trinidad Jame$ sent social media haywire as he continued to tweet about his rant at a New York performance. During his infamous rant, Jame$ talked about how New York used to run rap but now Atlanta runs New York.

Fellow Atlanta native Waka Flocka seems to agree with Jame$ and even took it upon himself to expand on his thought.

In an interview with VladTV, Waka Flocka Flame had this to say:

"The South run music, period, they don't run just one region, one state, one genre; the South run music. Kendrick Lamar made the bar look West, but the South still winning." Interesting statement to make, right?

While New York rappers are still licking their wounds from the insult, Waka is the first Southern rapper to speak out on the issue openly.

"It's friendly competition," he said. "Some people just get carried away."

Jame$' comments were not taken lightly or received well at all. Many New York artists such as Mysonne, Maino, Action Bronson, Smoke DZA, Papoose, N.O.R.E., Hell Rell and even Hopsin were quite offended.

Wonder how they'll react to Waka's statement.

Shortly after his rant, Jame$ released a track called "L.I.A.A.R.$" detailing his rant and even calling a few folks out. Maybe he and Waka should get together and make a track since they share similar views.

What do you think about the current state of hip-hop? Which region is dominating the market right now?
