Colton Dixon Gives Advice for New American Idol Season 12 Auditions

It seems like not too long ago when Phillip Phillips took home the title of America's Idol, and now Season 12 auditions have begun. More great talent appears year after year with many contestants who have prepared for years learning and examining every new season that passes by.

Auditions are taking place in Charlotte, NC today (June 19) and throughout other major cities throughout the U.S. over the next few months. Season 11 finalist Colton Dixon gives some simple yet true advice to those planning to audition for the next season.

“Calm down, breathe, and be you. Nerves are going to run through you like crazy, but let that adrenaline push you even further than you would normally go, pour your heart out in the first audition and show them your personality,” Dixon said.

Though Season 12 is taking steps forward, Season 11 is not quite over yet with the finalists coming together for their "Idol" Live summer tour starting in July 6.
