Although you might not be excited about it, director Jon M. Chu says that another installment of G.I. Joe is on its way and he doesn't see why Channing Tatum wouldn't be involved. The director explains how anything is possible in this franchise, so we should expect a lot more exciting news as this project moves forward. Let's take a look at what Chu (as well as star Adrianne Palicki) has revealed so far.

You might remember how losing Tatum less than half-way through the sequel, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, led to the studio spending more money on the project to get him back in for reshoots, so having him in the third film is probably the main priority.

"You never know," Chu said of Tatum's return. "Storm Shadow died in the first one and came back in the second one, and then other characters have died and never come back. The G.I. Joe world, the best thing about it is you never know who's coming back and who's not."

Chu also added that there would most likely be new characters in the upcoming film, that would be "exciting ones that I know the fans will love, and people that I've always wanted to work with."

What characters are you hoping to see in G.I. Joe 3?

Though Tatum's role in the new movie is up in the air right now, Retaliation star Adrianne Palicki recently revealed she'd be returning and that she's looking forward to it!

Here she is talking about the roles she's been offered since her role as Lady Jaye.

"I think it's hard to find females who can do the action stuff and I think that when people see somebody... there are only like three or four [actresses] who are in all that stuff, because it's like once people see that they can do it, they put them in a lot of things," Palicki said. "So yes, I definitely get a lot of scripts for action films. Which is awesome, because I love doing it. I love doing my own stunts. I'm one of those crazy people, but it's a fine line because you don't want to get pigeonholed. That's why I try to do comedies or even a little independent film, just to stay above board. To keep it real, and to keep me from getting injured once in a while! I'm 30 and I feel like I'm 57 years old!"
