Drake to host Saturday Night Live

Drake is heading back to the small screen.

That's right. Drizzy is returning to television, but not for Degrassi (sorry if we got your hopes up). But those acting skills will definitely come in hand in 2014.

This coming January, Drizzy will host and perform on Saturday Night Live after the show returns from its holiday break. The actor turned rapper appeared on SNL before back in 2011. He was a musical performer.

In the past year, Justin Timberlake and Lady Gaga have both hosted and performed. But aside from its talented guests, SNL has been scrutinized for one of its more glaring issues.

SNL has recently come under fire for its lack of black female cast members. The show recently announced that it had three finalists for a role as a new black female cast member.

The finalists are Natasha Rothwell, Sasheer Zamata and Kerry Coddett. The three finalists were selected from 7 or 8 performers who held auditions in Los Angeles.

The new cast member will join SNL when the show returns in January. Fans have some big changes to look forward to when the show returns. We're sure Drake is going to do a great job as well.

2013 was a big year for Drizzy. What's a better way to kick off 2014 than an appearance on SNL? Drake is slated to appear on Saturday Night Live on Jan. 18.
