What is it with big name stars and not clearing their samples? "Bound 2" ,the popularly derided track off Kanye West's critically lauded latest album, has landed the rapper in hot water. According to NY Daily News, Kanye is being sued over the sample that serves as the backbone for the entire track.

Former child soul singer Ricky Spicer is suing Kanye and his labels for what he claims is an unauthorized use of his vocals from the Ponderosa Twins Plus One track "Bound." Anyone who has heard Kanye's track will recognize the sample immediately. Spicer claims it is his voice that says "Bound" twice before the rest of the group chimes in with "Bound to fall in love."

It appears that Kanye used the sample without altering it in any way, which makes it even stranger that he would not attempt to clear the sample.

Spicer has also named Roc-A-Fella, Island Def Jam and Universal Music Group in the suit he filed in Manhattan on Monday. He is requesting compensation or a cease and desist from West.
