Supercut proves that 2013 was "The Year Of 'Get Lucky'"

Any claims that "Wrecking Ball" or "Blurred Lines" was the song of 2013 are hereby rendered irrelevant by this Daft Punk supercut from Stereogum. As someone paid to keep up with the machinations of the music blog hype machine, I've seen and reported on many of these covers, videos and promotional stunts. Still, even I was unaware of the global reach of the robot's monster disco jam. HALESTORM? That Dame Guita trad folk cover? And don't even get me started on the awesomeness of that Rosh Hashanah song.

Of course there is one thing missing from the supercut. A live performance by the band itself. Daft Punk haven't played anything live since 2008, but that may soon be remedied if the Grammy predictions are true.

Want to dive deeper into the year of "Get Lucky"? Check out that awesome Stephen Colbert dance party, the many covers of the lead single,  and even a Creators Project video for good measure.
