Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson made the transition from professional wrestling to Hollywood about a decade ago and has made his mark on numerous franchises, including The Mummy, G.I. Joe, The Fast and the Furious and Journey to the Center of the Earth. But could a major DC comics movie be in The Great One's near future?

Johnson tweeted on New Year's Eve that he has had talks with the CEO of Warner Bros. about collaborating on a DC Comics project in 2014. Here's The Rock's tweet verbatim:

Unfortunately, Johnson's tweet was as cryptic as it was intriguing, as he did not offer any more information about the movie or part. So let's have some fun and speculate ourselves about where Johnson could fit into the DC movie universe.

The biggest project on DC's slate is Batman vs. Superman, which comes out in 2015. More and more news continually trickles out about the Man of Steel sequel, as rumors churn of numerous DC characters that could appear in the film. So perhaps The Rock could play one of those parts. Reports came out recently that Warner Bros. was looking to go in a different direction with the role of Lex Luthor by casting an African-American for the part. Denzel Washington and Idris Elba were two names on the list, but maybe Johnson fits the bill. There's also the possibility that he could play Martian Manhunter as Warner Bros. builds toward a Justice League movie.

Johnson's name has also been tied to both Black Adam for a Captain Marvel/Shazam movie and Lobo the bounty hunter for a solo film.

Hopefully Johnson enlightens fans soon about this news, but in the meantime, give us your thoughts! Who do you think Johnson would or should play in a DC movie?
