Its officially 2014 and the New Year marks the 30th anniversary of Ivan Reitman's Ghostbusters.  The paranormal comedy starred Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson. Sony Pictures has something pretty cool in store for fans of the film.

The movie studio is prepping to celebrate the big 30th by lining up a list of licensees for apparel, toys, collectibles and publishing. The studio has teamed up with the likes of Mattel, IDW Publishing, World Tech Toys, Mad Engine, Titan Figures, Uniqlo, Funko, Underground Toys and more to create action figures and other things for hardcore fans.

And for all you gamers, Ubisoft, GSN, XMG, IGT and others will create interactive, gaming and slot machine items. MDI is also working on a series of state lottery programs.

Sony also has a partnership with pop culture art gallery Gallery 1988 to create a traveling art show that will feature top artists' interpretations of Ghostbusters over the last 30 years. And if that isn't cool enough, posters and limited edition screen prints will be available during each stop of the tour.

The tour will conclude in July at Comic-Con International in San Diego, Calif.

The original film was released June 8, 1984 and also starred Sigourney Weaver, Rick Moranis, Annie Potts, and William Atherton.

With all this excitement going on, maybe Bill Murray will have a change of heart and sign on for a third installment.

Who knows but we've gotta say, this is pretty cool! What do you think of Sony going all out for the 30th anniversary of Ghostbusters
